Ellafi Kind Opens Nominations for 2026 Local Nonprofit Giveaway
Five Connecticut Nonprofits Will Receive $500 Donations to Support Local Community Impact
MIDDLETOWN, CT (May 15, 2026) — Ellafi Kind, the charitable arm of Ellafi Federal Credit Union (FCU), is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Local Nonprofit Giveaway, an initiative dedicated to uplifting nonprofit organizations that are making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families across Connecticut.
Every day, nonprofits throughout Middlesex, New Haven, and Hartford Counties step in to help people facing food insecurity, recovery challenges, housing instability, life transitions, and other hardships. Through this giveaway, Ellafi Kind hopes to shine a light on the compassion, care, and dedication these organizations bring to their communities.
Through member nominations, Ellafi Kind will award $500 donations to five local nonprofit organizations serving Middlesex, New Haven, or Hartford Counties. One nonprofit will be selected each Friday throughout July, with all winners notified by July 31, 2026.
Ellafi Kind’s mission focuses on three key areas of impact: supporting young girls through financial education and opportunity, helping individuals and families access safe and stable housing, and assisting women transitioning out of domestic violence situations through financial stability support.
While members are encouraged to nominate nonprofits aligned with these focus areas, Ellafi Kind also welcomes nominations for other local nonprofit organizations making a meaningful difference throughout Connecticut communities.
“Ellafi Kind was created to support organizations that are often doing extraordinary work quietly and consistently within our communities,” said Kristen Jensen, VP of Community and Business Relationships at Ellafi and Secretary on the Ellafi Kind Board of Directors. “This giveaway is an opportunity to recognize and invest in nonprofits that are helping individuals and families build stronger, more stable futures.”
Nominations are open now through June 18, 2026. Eligible organizations must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving Middlesex, New Haven, or Hartford Counties.

Last year’s inaugural giveaway recipients included:
● Food Pantry of North Branford, which supports local families experiencing food insecurity through food access and essential resources.
● TriCircle, which provides education, outreach, and recovery support programs for individuals and families affected by addiction.
● Unashamed, Inc., which empowers foster youth and young adults through mentorship and life transition support.
● Caritas Immigration Legal Services, which offers immigration legal services and support for immigrant individuals and families throughout Connecticut.
● Women in Transition Program, which supports women navigating recovery, education, and major life transitions.
