Middlesex United Way’s Women United Opens 2025–2026 Grant Opportunity

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 6, 2025

Middletown, CT – Middlesex United Way’s Women United affinity group is inviting nonprofit organizations serving women and children in Middlesex County to apply for its 2025–2026 Women United Grant Opportunity.

Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, October 10, 2025, through Friday, December 5, 2025. Grants ranging from $100 to $1,000 will be awarded to support programs that strengthen childhood and youth development, empower women, and advance financial stability.

“Women United is all about lifting up women and children in our community,” said Michele Boutin, Chair of Middlesex United Way’s Women United. “These small grants are our way of helping to ensure meaningful programs can impact as many people as possible.”

Earlier this year, Middlesex United Way’s Women United awarded a $1,000 grant to the Middlesex County NAACP’s WIN Reading Program for Girls, which provides African American and Latino girls with opportunities to grow their reading and comprehension skills. It was the first grant to be awarded since the Covid-19 pandemic.

To be eligible for the current grant, applicants must be IRS tax-exempt organizations (501(c)(3)) or have a fiscal sponsor with tax-exempt status. Funds are restricted to work serving residents in Middlesex County. Organizations currently receiving Middlesex United Way Community Impact Grant funding are not eligible. A virtual informational session about the current grant cycle is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025.
