Intern Posting – Video Creator

RiverCOG is looking for a part time student intern for summer 2025 to help us with creation of
educational video content on the topic of affordable housing. This is a great opportunity for those
interested in content creation, digital media, and video production.

The ideal candidate will help produce engaging and informative videos that will be shared
throughout the state within our own video library, on social media, and through various other
channels for committee and commission volunteers, elected officials, and the general public.
Through this opportunity you’ll build your resume and/or portfolio while learning about work in a
public planning agency.

Responsibilities:
Plan, help script, and produce short-form educational videos
Film and edit videos
Add captions, graphics, and animations to enhance videos
Collaborate with the project team
Stay updated on social media trends to create high-engagement content

Requirements:
Background, interest, or course work in digital media, content creation, marketing, or related field
Experience with video productions and editing (portfolio or video examples helpful)
Candidates will need to have access to their own recording and media editing equipment (this could
be a smart phone & laptop). Software licenses for Adobe Creative Suite can be provided.
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, GIMP, or similar graphic design and
media editing tools such as Da Vinci Resolve
Strong communication and storytelling skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently at times

Technicalities:
~10 - 20 hours per week (not to exceed 20 hours per week)
$17 per hour
The ideal candidate will be available to work mostly on-site in our office in Essex, CT, though some
editing and other work can be done from home
This position will be funded through a grant from the State of CT Department of Housing
