Introduction to Basic Drawing Techniques - On Line via Zoom
This five week course is an introduction to basic drawing techniques and visual concepts, with a focus on translation of a three-dimensional form to a two-dimensional surface.
Fundamental issues of drawing will also be introduced, (line, value, space, and composition).
Objective, non-objective and intuitive approaches are covered as we explore mediums ranging from charcoal to pen and ink.

Teaching Artist Lisa Macbride, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, has had solo exhibitions at the New Britain Museum of American Art, Trinity-On-Main in New Britain, CT and Atelier A/E in New York City, among others. Her watercolors were exhibited at a solo exhibition at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) in Lima, Peru, at the invitation of the Cultural Ministry of that country. Macbride's work is in the collections of ICPNA, New York University and Bellevue Hospital for which she was commissioned. She has received numerous grants and awards, among them the Vogelstein Foundation Grant, several grants from the Greater Hartford Arts Council and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant along with two Connecticut Commission on the Arts Grants. Macbride has also done numerous illustrations, including ad work for Lord & Taylor, various CD covers and other freelance projects. Lisa Macbride is on the faculty of Tunxis Community Technical College in Farmington, CT, where she teaches drawing and design.
