HARVARD PILGRIM MIDDLETOWN BOOTIFUL 5K/10K ROAD RACE
Sunday, October 31, 2021 Middletown, CT – The City of Middletown will be hosting the Harvard Pilgrim Middletown BOOTIFUL 5K/10K road race on Sunday, October 31, 2021. The race is organized by the Hartford Marathon Foundation, and will be a Halloween run and walk event for the entire family. The race loops around the scenic Wesleyan University campus, and will include a FitKids run for children. Costumes are encouraged. Race-day events will include a costume contest, and post-race treats. Pre and post-race activities will take place at the southern end of Main Street around Union Green. The FitKids Run starts at 10:45am on Old Church Street. The 10K and 5K races start at 11:30am on High Street near Wesleyan University, and will loop around campus and finish on Old Church Street. Free parking will be available on race day at the Melilli Plaza lot and the Dingwall Drive lot.
Please expect traffic delays, detours, and road closures on the day of the race. Roads will be affected between the hours of 9:30 A.M and approximately 1:30 P.M on race day and include: Old Church Street, Main Street one (1) southbound travel lane, Williams Street, High Street, Washington Terrace, Vine Street, Long Lane Street, Wadsworth Street, Pine Street, and Church Street west of High Street. Many side streets will be barricaded and officers or volunteers will be at fixed posts on the route. When possible, police will direct crosstraffic to accommodate motorists. Roads will reopen as runners pass.
The Harvard Pilgrim Middletown road race will follow all local and state health and safety guidelines to keep everyone as safe as possible.
