3rd Annual Purple Pumpkin 5K Trail Run
Thank you for your interest in the 3rd Annual Purple Pumpkin 5K for Epilepsy. We are thrilled to have this exciting run be an annual event in our Going Purple for Epilepsy Awareness and Fundraising Campaign to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut! This is a timed/chipped 5K trail run.
Due to social distancing guidelines, we are only able to accept 100 runners for this year's run.
NOTE: To ensure additional social distancing, we are unable to host an in-person purple pumpkin painting session this year. A limited number of purple pumpkin decorating kits will be pre-packaged and available to take home. Please indicate if you would like a kit when completing your registration.
COVID- 19 Guidelines:
- Participants must be in good health and symptom free from any illness for at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
- Start times will be staggered and runners will be chip timed.
- Participants are required to be completely self-sufficient. No water stops, or medical assistance will be provided. Water provided upon run completion.
- Participants must follow all CDC safe distancing guidelines, maintaining a 6-foot distance.
- Except for passing, participants should adhere to “no drafting” rules which include being no closer than 10 feet behind or in front of, or 6 feet beside other competitors at any time. Before passing participants must be sure they can safely remain 10 feet behind and then 10 feet in front of the participant being overtaken.
- Will there be contact tracing? All runners will be required to register with their full name, phone number and email address.
- Will there be thermal scanning? No
- Does the organization have a social distancing policy in place for the event? Yes, Reduced number of runners (100) to follow State of Connecticut guidelines on outdoor event size, all runners will adhere to staggered start times, refreshments will be provided with a grab and go, and served full service by masked and gloved staff following State of Connecticut restaurant guidelines
- Will the organization make face masks mandatory for attendees? Masks guidelines have been set forth by the State of Connecticut, masks are required while registering, and at start line They are not required, while running in open air and socially distanced.
