"LEADERSHIP STRATEGIES & PRACTICES FOR THE NEW YEAR!"
- Sara Hanson, Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at MxCC, will be the speaker. She spent the first half of her professional career as a retail store manager, where she specialized in district training, store relocations, and loss prevention. Sara left Connecticut in 2007 to run a store on the Las Vegas Strip. She also served as an adjunct instructor for the Fashion Retail Management program at The Art Institute of Las Vegas and in 2012, began working full-time as the program coordinator for the Fashion Retail Management and Fashion Design programs at The Art Institute of Las Vegas.
- Sara earned a BA in political science and a BA in history from Western Connecticut State University, an MS in organizational leadership from Argosy University, and an EdD in organizational leadership from Argosy, where her studies focused on change management, corporate culture, and leadership. Her dissertation was titled, “A Phenomenological Study Exploring the Corporate Culture of Zappos and Zappos Impact on Downtown Las Vegas.” The study examines the relationship between the leadership theory of Holacracy and Zappos relationship with the revitalization of the Downtown Las Vegas community.
