Role and Scope of Position:
The Communications Specialist-Offshore Wind serves as a communications resource for an assigned Eversource business and/or specialized Eversource communications area.


Essential Functions:

Provides day-to-day writing and/or coordination of a variety of written communications’ assignments; conducts related research as needed.
Provides drafting (as assigned) and copy editing for stories, releases, publications, op-eds, LTEs, blogs, and other communications vehicles.
Synthesizes potentially complex information for presentation to diverse stakeholders.
Participates in assigned projects that include the element of communications and proactively develops, recommends and executes appropriate strategies for the communications’ portion of assigned projects.
Proactively seeks communications’ opportunities to increase project brand visibility and convey core Offshore Wind (OSW) project narrative.
Monitors media activity to anticipate and/or identify content opportunities.
Identifies and appropriately addresses obstacles to goal attainment as well as emerging issues within assigned areas.
Provides accurate, timely execution of activities and/or objectives and ensures positive impact on colleagues
Understands the policies, practices and processes of assigned business or functional area, continually strives for their improvement and ensures effective and safe execution.
Contributes to a productive, engaging and inclusive work environment.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Impeccable written communication skills including the ability to effectively inform, educate and influence a wide variety of audiences.
Excellent oral communications skills.
Strong tactical project management skills.
Demonstrated skill with MS Office Applications (especially PowerPoint).
Basic design skills or the ability to interface meaningfully with designers.
Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization and with counterparts in external organizations, effectively navigating a complex – and at times fluid – interorganizational matrix.
Strong business acumen.
Strong team membership skills.
Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities that may require availability beyond a traditional 40+ hour work week.

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, or a closely-related discipline is required.
A minimum of three (3) to (5) years of related experience in a corporate communication, agency, policy/project advocacy, or a political campaign environment is required.
Experience in planning, writing, coordinating, and executing a variety of internal and external communications products is required.
Previous industry experience in a climate-related field including transportation, solar, or wind energy also strongly preferred.


Licenses & Certification:



Working Conditions:

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
