This position will provide community outreach to promote breast health and breast cancer screening, particularly among individuals who experience barriers to care and are not currently receiving recommended care.
Coordinate breast health outreach opportunities throughout Middlesex County.
Attend health events at churches and community organizations.
Seek out opportunities to reach underserved women.
Provide basic breast health education. Facilitate appointments for breast cancer screening and diagnosis; identify resources to address barriers to care (e.g. transportation, childcare).
Maintain accurate record of outreach activities and individuals reached.
Work closely with the Health Education and Grants Coordinator and breast health team.

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Connecticut driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation
Enjoys working with people; courteous and personable
Ability to utilize existing relationships and build new relationships with community organizations (e.g. soup kitchens, food pantries, churches, social service organizations) to reach underserved
Passion for health equity and reducing health disparities
Be a self-starter; willing to take initiative; ability to work independently
Public speaking skills
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to use G Suite (e.g. Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
