Lead, Inspire, and Empower! Empower Leadership delivers exciting and fun adventure experiences inspiring team cohesion and personal development. These experiences include a unique blend of active and group-appropriate activities designed to stretch participant comfort zones and are combined with hands-on learning and personal coaching. The Empower Leadership Team Building and Leadership Development curriculum seeks to strengthen bonds within groups, challenge the status quo, inspire creativity and produce better than ever results.

Position Summary: The Team Building Facilitator is responsible for assisting the General Manager in delivering uplifting, inspiring, and empowering team building and leadership development adventure programs, experiential workshops, and training events. The candidate must lead by example in the planning and execution of such experiences - engaging with our clients in a professional and safe manner while being fun, outgoing, endearing, and personable. 

This position will experience every facet of the team building and leadership development operation on a regular basis. From operational/logistical planning and delivery of group intakes/briefings, programmatic experiences, and program debriefings - the candidate will gain valuable customer-service experience in the experiential adventure team building and leadership development industry. 

The candidate will be self-starting, energetic, focused and accountable, and organized; embracing ever increasing responsibility and challenge while sharing our passion for leadership development. The Team Facilitator position is a valuable and critical role that supports our mission of inspiring one million individuals to become leaders. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Building Facilitator is responsible for, but not limited to, the following essential functions:

  • Align with the Empower Leadership mission of inspiring team cohesion and personal development

  • Logistical planning and delivery of Empower Leadership team building and leadership development services

  • Safety, Responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and committed to all aspects of the job

  • Engaging and professional in all interactions with clients and potential clients

  • Able to make risk management decisions and handle stressful situations calmly and effectively

  • Model a “can-do” attitude, communicate well with coworkers and managers, and contribute to a positive and supportive team atmosphere. 

Minimum Qualifications: The Team Building Facilitator will be trained and certified on all Empower Leadership ground-based programs and models. Qualification for this position include:

  • Must be 21 years of age

  • Must have team building and leadership development facilitation experience; including the facilitation of both ground-based prop initiatives and low ropes experiences

  • Experience working with diverse clientele in a fast-paced, social, professional, and multi-task environment

  • Self-starting and flexible schedule

  • Ability to lead 6 to 8 hours of team building and leadership development experiences for large groups of youths, young adults, and adults in various outdoor and indoor settings

  • Computer skills (PC applications) and great attention to detail to ensure organized operations and overall positive customer experiences

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as strong self-care skills

The candidate recommended for employment will be required to attend a training and certification program regardless of previous experience. A formal employment offer will be presented to the candidate upon completion of training and after completing certification requirements.

Salary: $15.00 / hour

Incentives: Opportunities to generate new group leads, prospect potential clients, and earn commission for sales of team building/leadership development experiences. 

Experience: Team building and leadership development facilitation (one year or more required)

Education: High school or equivalent required

Work Authorization: United States required

Primary Work Location: Empower Adventure Park at Nomads, 240 Governors HWY, S. Windsor, CT 06074

Travel Requirements: Moderate travel (1-4 times weekly)

Hours per Week: Varies
