SUMMARY:Harbors of Refuge: Beauty in the Natural World
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, March 8 as our third-floor gallery transforms into Harbors of Refuge: Beauty in the Natural World\, An Exhibition of Photography by Stanley M. Kolber.\n\n\n\nOur new exhibit showcases the wondrous photographs that Stanley Kolber has shared with us. Kolber?s lifelong love of nature and his enjoyment in seeking out the beauty in nature are evident in this collection which includes birds in their natural habitat as well as water abstractions.\n\n\n\nDuring his exciting photography career\, Stan has had the chance to travel to Alaska\, South Africa\, Botswana\, Patagonia\, Belize\, Costa Rica\, and many of the national parks and wildlife refuges in the United States\, including Point Reyes\, Yosemite\, Yellowstone\, Ding Darling\, and the Everglades.\n\n\n\nStanley Kolber was not always a nature photographer\, although he has been interested in nature and birds for many years. Stan worked for much of his life as a lawyer\, first in the Department of Justice under the Kennedy administration and then later in corporate and securities law in New York. It was the 9/11 attacks that made Stan\, whose office had been located in the World Trade Center\, take his life and career in a new direction.\n\n\n\nStan?s work has appeared on book covers\, been purchased for private and corporate collections\, and been jury chosen for exhibitions. Notable examples where his work has been purchased and exhibited are the Children?s Hospital in Boston\, Massachusetts and the Pleiades Gallery in Chelsea\, New York.
