In this three-and half hour workshop, participants will create original poems that respond to, comment on, or take inspiration from, works of art that they themselves have created, works currently hanging in the Spectrum Gallery, or works by others, including famous painters.
The workshop will include warm-up exercises, utilizing the Permission to Play with Language Model, developed by Steven Ostrowski for participants at the Central Connecticut Writing Project, and the writing and workshopping of original poems about works of art.
Every participant will be given a copy of Steven Ostrowski’s chapbook of poems called After the Tate Modern. Please bring pen or pencil and a notebook and of course your inspirational print, original work or just choose from pieces in the gallery.
