Prior to opening the Mansion she was owner/Innkeeper of the Inn at Chester\, a 42-room full service country inn. After graduating from Colby College and Maine Maritime Academy she spent nine years at sea as a deck officer on oil tankers sailing on the West and Gulf Coasts.
