Strains of majestic masterpieces from the Renaissance and Baroque eras will ring out in the Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center at Middletown High School. The music selections are inspired by various feast days and celebratory occasions from those periods. The program features works such as Handel?s coronation anthem Zadok the Priest\, Bach?s magnificent Magnificat (last performed by GMC in 1999!)\, Purcell?s Jubilate Deo\, and two rousing choruses by Handel\, including the ?Hallelujah Chorus? as closer to our concert.\n\n \n\nOur spring MainStage concert\, Songs of Fate\, on Sunday\, April 28 features \n\nBrahms? Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny) - which\, in many ways\, is like the Requiem - and Schubert?s Mass in E-Flat\, No. 6\, his final and most mature composition. This is one of the great Mass settings of all time\, and is representative of early-Romanticism with a nod back to the Renaissance and Baroque eras.\n\n \n\nFor those wishing to participate in First Congregational Church of Cheshire?s Festival of Carols\, you will see that scheduled on Saturday\, December 16.
