SUMMARY:HR Council presents "Changes to Connecticut’s Sick Day Law" Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Changes to Connecticut's Sick Day Law\n\npresented by:\n\nRobert D. Noonan and Emily Noonan of Robert Noonan and Associates\n\n\nOn January 1\, 2025\, sweeping changes to Connecticut's Sick Day Law will take effect for employers with 25 or more employees . The law will expand the class of employees entitled to sick time\, expand the reasons for which employees can take leave\, accelerate the rate at which employees accrue sick time\, and impose new notice and record retention requirements on employers.\n\n \n\nFor Chamber Members with 25-49 employees\, including manufacturers\, YMCAs\, and municipalities\, this means complying with all the requirements of a law that had not applied in the past. For Chamber Members with 50 or more employees January 1st this will require significant policy changes impacting exempt employees\, new employees\, and seasonal employees.\n\n \n\nIn this special one-hour executive briefing webinar we will cover the basics of the Connecticut Sick Day Law\, and the steps you should be taking before January 1st. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, we will address the most important questions and answers from Connecticut employers and the answers.\n\n\n\nAbout our Speakers \n\n \n\nRobert D. Prior to joining the firm\, Bob served as Vice President and Counsel for the Connecticut Business and Industry Association. In addition\, Bob's professional experience includes 20 years in Human Resources Management with Pitney Bowes Inc\, and the Napier Co\, an international manufacturing concern. He holds a juris doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law as well as a master's degree in industrial relations and a master's degree in sociology.\n\n \n\nEmily Noonan is an attorney with Robert Noonan and Associates. At the firm\, she focuses on developments in workplace laws and regulations\, advising clients on day-to-day workplace issues\, and training management on a wide range of topics critical to avoiding legal liability and producing an effective workforce.\n\n \n\nShe holds a juris doctor from University of Connecticut School of Law and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville\, NY. Emily is admitted to practice before the Connecticut superior courts. Prior to joining the firm Emily served as a bilingual case manager at a law firm where she later trained attorneys and support staff on law firm management issues.
