DESCRIPTION:At the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling's 16th Annual Conference\, we will explore emerging trends in problem gambling\, as well as the ramifications of expanded legalized gambling in the state.\n\nADVOCACY\n\nWe have invited key legislators and regulators to discuss the current regulatory landscape in Connecticut and how it may be altered as a result of new forms of legalized gambling. We'll also have sessions on criminal justice reform for problem gamblers\, and the impact of problem gambling on the business community.\n\nTREATMENT\n\nFor treatment professionals\, we will have sessions on new treatments for disordered gambling\, and the intersection of marijuana and problem gambling. We'll also explore the relationship between internet and technology addiction and gambling.\n\nPREVENTION\n\nWe'll have breakouts showcasing the work being done regionally around Connecticut (including capacity-building exercises and other takeaways)\, new technology and approaches used to prevent problem gambling\, and targeted outreach in urban communities.\n\nWe'll also hear the moving stories of those in recovery from all walks of life (military\, business\, incarcerated)\, including affected family members.\n\nRegistration includes breakfast\, lunch and refreshments.
