Job Summary
Durham Market is searching for a full-time General Manager who is self-motivated with the energy, focus and ability to take our establishment to the next level. This candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team. Solid organizational and time management skills are a must. The position includes evening and weekend hours with some holidays.
Responsibilities and Duties
The General Manager will maintain a strong rapport with each employee and business owner while making customers feel welcomed as soon as they walk through the door. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining top quality customer service standards within a face-paced environment.
  • Ensuring all staff comply with sanitation and safety standards while maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Having knowledge of all market duties in order to fill in on a moment’s notice.
  • Finding new ways to promote the market through community involvement, advertising and social media.
  • Evaluating current processes and adjusting accordingly to meet the needs of customers, staff and the goals of the market.
  • Reading, understanding and using sales data to increase profit.
  • Recruiting, hiring and training staff to meet the needs of the customers.
  • Scheduling staff and completing Payroll weekly.
  • Utilizing POS system to its capacity including running reports.
  • Having the willingness and ability to work alongside staff and lead by example while enforcing clear guidelines.
  • Management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid organization and time management skills.
  • ServSafe Certification.
