Job Description
Objective:
  • Responsible for the procurement and transportation of all goods and services, including manufactured goods, with a focus on delivery performance to the customer, inventory turns, product quality and cost.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage the entire supply chain from source origination to customer delivery.
  • Negotiate favorable and robust Supply Agreements, including price, warranty and lead time.
  • Establish, measure and continuously improve performance metrics and controls for all levels of procurement and transportation activities, including delivery, price, lead time and quality.
  • Manage all aspects of the importation process, including harmonized tariff codes and customs documents
  • Select transportation routes and carriers to maximize economy, eliminate damage and reduce transit time to the warehouse and to customers.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to set up additional distribution points where required.
  • Monitor forecasts and customer demand to manage material flow and insure inventory is maintained at the optimum level while continuously improving inventory turns.
  • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions and new product launches, including the demand planning process, to ensure orderly and timely transitions of material flow.
  • Develop material cost forecasts to provide cost data to the budgeting and customer pricing processes
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Management to improve transportation processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performance culture, resulting in improved levels of customer service to interior and exterior customers.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with corporate Supply Chain Management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Required Eduation:
  • Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Required Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of staff supervisory experience
Required Competencies:
  • Performance management skills
  • Communication proficiency, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Chinese suppliers and the importation process.
  • SAP experience preferred
