The Connection is comprised of 3 services areas; Behavioral Health, Community Justice, and Family Support Services. The Connections statewide programs reunite families; break the generational cycles of abuse and neglect; create stronger, safer communities; assist people with mental health and addiction issues; provide long term supportive housing to individuals and families including those with diagnosed behavioral health disorders; provide residential treatment for women and/or men in recovery, and offer less costly service alternatives, saving taxpayer dollars.

Knowledge, Skills, and Position Summary:The eligible candidate for the Admission Specialist position will work full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday with flexibility to work weekend and holiday hours as needed, to fit program needs. The Admissions Specialist is responsible for oversees the referral process of cases from the Department of Children and Families and is responsible for screening and maintaining the wait list for the 14 DCF offices. Duties include developing a screening procedure to determine client eligibility and appropriateness of the level of care, creating a database and developing reports, maintaining relationships with DCF supervisors and workers through the screening and wait list process. This position is non-exempt and works under the supervision of program Management. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Education: The minimum qualifications to be an eligible candidate for the Admissions Specialist position is Associates Degree and 4 years of related experience. Valid Connecticut driver's license is required for all open positions at The Connection.

Orientation: If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend New Hire Orientation on days 1-3. This orientation is held at our Main Office in Middletown, Connecticut.
