Emergency Medical Technician
Provides high quality medical care and transportation for patients in the Middlesex Health System. Works with a paramedic partner on the ambulance during 8-hour shifts and is responsible for bariatric and specialty care transports as ordered by a physician. When not transporting patients in the ambulance E.M.T.s work alongside Emergency Department staff and operate within the statuatory and regulatory framework established by State of CT Office of Emergency Medical Services for the E.M.T. role.
Knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and deliver emergent care in a safe manner. Must be able to safely transfer and move patients utilizing hospital approved transportation equipment. Have good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- State of Connecticut EMT-B certification and be in good standing with CT DPH and any current or prior hospital medical control
- BLS CPR certificate
- Valid State of Connecticut driver's license
