The Inpatient Coder performs a variety of activities involving the coding of inpatient medical records as a mechanism for medical information which is used for the completion of statistics for hospital, regional and government planning and accurate hospital reimbursement.
High School diploma or equivalent. CCS certification is required. Two years experience with ICD-10-CM coding, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and disease processes. One year of successful inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital.
